DIBELS (8th Ed) - Entering Data

Step 1: Download the DIBELS template.

1a: Select 'support', and 'download templates' from the menu.

1b: Save the file to your computer

Once you have clicked on the template your computer will either download the file directly to your downloads folder or it will ask you where you would like to save the file. Save the file to a location where you can easily access it.

Step 2: Open the Template. 

Once opened it should look like this. Read through the instructions page. Noting the comments regarding the 'discontinue' & 'gating' rules.

Step 3: Select which year level you would like to enter data for, by clicking on the appropriate tab at the bottom of the template.

Step 4: Fill out all of the information in Column A-H

1. Enter the Test Date in the format suggested (dd/mm/yy)
2. Indicate whether it was 'Beginning', 'Middle' or 'End' of year testing
3. Enter the Student's Surname
4. Enter the Student's First Name
5. Enter the Student's  ID number (Student Number)
6. Optional details about each student (Gender, DOB, Class)

Step 5: Enter each student's raw score on each sub-test. 

Please Note! Be very careful not to remove the formulas that are in some cells, otherwise the templates will not work correctly. The Composite Score will be calculated automatically, as well as an Accuracy % and Maze Calculated Score where applicable. Please make sure you have read and considered the 'discontinue' and 'gating rules' (mentioned in the 'Main Menu' page of the template).

Step 6: Save the file 

Step 7: Import the file to SPAstandard

 Go to Uploading Test Data to SPAplatform
