PAT ACER OARS Group Report - Exporting

On this page, we will provide instructions on how to export ACER online tests for importing to SPAplatform.

These instructions are suitable for exporting data for the following tests:

• PAT-Reading (4th & 5th Editions)
• PAT-M (Plus & 4th Editions)
• PAT-Early Year Reading
• PAT-Early Year Maths
• PAT-Spelling
• PAT-Grammar & Punctuation
• PAT-Vocabulary
• PAT-Vocabulary Skills

Step 1

Log in to your ACER OARS account.

You first need to log in to your OARS account from the ACER website. If you have a link saved to your favourites, you can go directly there.

If not, then you can follow this link https://oars.acer.edu.au/clients/search and search for your school. Search for your school name and click the link to be taken to the login screen.

Step 2

Once you have logged in, you will be taken to this screen. From here, click the Reports button

Step 3

Select the test you would like to export.

Step 4

Select Group Report.

Step 5

Select report constraints: 

1. Select Test
2. Select Test form
3. Select Time period
4. Click Generate Report

Step 6

1. Click Compare Candidate Results to Year Level.  You can now choose any year level at this point, as it will make no difference to the data we import into SPA; only the raw score and scale score. Simply choose any year level and move on to the next step.
2. Click Download > Table (Excel File)

Step 7

Download the file:

• Make sure all checkboxes are checked
• Name the file. We recommend something like "2017 PatM Sem 2 Test 1"
• Click Export Report

Step 8

Click Download.
The file is now ready to upload to SPAstandard via the Import tab. 

Step 9 

If you need to export more test booklets, click on Change Report.

This will take you back to Step 5: Select report constraints, and you can start on the next file.
